New Mexico, Mississippi, and Idaho were finished toward the end of World War I. In 1930-34, all three were rebuilt and re-engined, with an increase in armor.
All three served in our 1941 "neutrality patrols," and after Pearl Harbor, they served in the Pacific. Only Mississippi was with the Pearl Harbor battleships at Surigao Strait in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, though.
