Based on Italian designs, these were the Red Navy's modern destroyers built on the eve of and during World War 2.
Their armament was standard, with four 5.1" guns and six 21" torpedo tubes, and the operational units saw much action. The Type 7a class had more range and power plant improvements.
Here is are ONI drawings and entries for the Type 7 and 7a destroyers, and you might want to see the "2-D models" of the ships I created, at 1:700, 1:1200, and 1:1800 scales. There are no 1:700 plastic models available of these ships. There is a 1:200 full hull plastic model of them produced by a Chinese company.
