Dedication:
Zhukov's Brutal Battle: Operation Mars, 1942 is dedicated ...
A. to the peoples of the former Soviet Union and of Poland who fought and won the biggest war front against Nazi evil.
B. to all the innocent people - also including Germans, Japanese, and other Axis peoples - who suffered and died in the Second World War.
C. to the Red Army which took heavy losses to finally and triumphantly bring Nazi evil and the horrible war in Europe to an end.
D. and to my children Rebecca, Robert, Rohan, and Johanna, in the hope that they may never have to go through a world war:
The more we learn about the Second World War, the better our chances that it will be the LAST world war.
A Request: If you do assemble and play this free game of mine, PLEASE let me know at ELCOAT@hotmail.com what you think of it and whether, after more than a couple games, you think one side or the other has an advantage. Thanks!
And now: Here are the Zhukov's Brutal Battle components, to print off and assemble so that it may be played. Players-students will also need a single six-sided die (or chits numbered 1-6, to be drawn out of a hat) for the randomized combat results tables.
- The bleak, white wintery map, to be printed off on two A3/11x17 sheets.
- The eastern map section, to be printed off on an A3/11x17 sheet.
- The western map section, to be printed off on an A3/11x17 sheet.
- The units, colored.
- The units, colored, with German infantry divisions of lower strength, for play balance.
- Multiple sets of the Russian units, colored. You can get 1/2" 13mm units on an A4 sheet with this. I would cut off the bottom set for a letter size sheet, and if you cut off the bottom two sets and print it in landscape format, the units are nice and big for the 2-piece map.
- Multiple sets of the German units, shaded. You can get 1/2" 13mm units on an A4 sheet with this. I would cut off the bottom set for a letter size sheet, and if you cut off the bottom two sets and print it in landscape format, the units are nice and big for the 2-piece map.

- Rules in Rich Text, Portrait format, 9Jan15 Only 3 pages?? These will probably be revised frequently, with feedback. I'm posting their date on them.
- Rules in Rich Text, Portrait format, 9Jan15 This version has a greater chance of German units taking exchange losses. These will probably be revised frequently, with feedback. I'm posting their date on them.
