California and Tennessee class Battleships

These were the last of the prewar 14" gunned battleships. After being damaged at Pearl Harbor, their superstructure was extensively simplified/redesigned and their secondary armament was revised with eight twin 5" dual purpose gun turrets and many 40mm and 20mm antiaircraft guns.

They served together in the Pacific and both were at Surigao Strait during the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
